We are hiring for a Yard Jockey in Jacksonville for an overnight shift.

Schedule: Sunday 8PM - until finish on Sundays Monday - Thursday - 6PM until Finished

Pay: $23/hr

You will be operating a Ottwa yard spotter truck. Moving containers to and from dock doors. Incumbent would need to be able to climb up and down a catwalk ladder to plug and unplug containers as needed.

Responsible for moving trucks and trailers in and out of dock doors for loading and unloading.

• Works with loaders and warehouse supervisors to move trucks and trailers from one location to another according to door assignments as needed to complete the loading process,

• Checks to ensure that each unit is sealed and that the refrigeration unit is operating correctly and running,

• Ensures the trailer or truck is completely loaded and secured before moving from the dock area,

• Works with transportation management to ensure the proper equipment is used on the proper route,

• Works closely with fleet shop management to ensure any repairs are finished before using equipment,

• Helps keep truck parking yard free of debris and trash,

• Arranges trucks and trailers on the yard in an orderly and efficient manner.

Requirements:

• Commercial Driver's License (CDL);

• pallet jack and forklift certification

• the ability to read, write, and understand English;

• basic arithmetic skills; ability to read a limited number of two and three syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers;

• ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs;

• ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form; and the ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

• Preferred requirements include warehouse or transportation experience and truck backing experience.
