We are hiring for a Welder on the Westside of Jacksonville.

Pay: $24-$30 per hour (depending upon experience)

Direct Hire | Full-Time

Primary purpose of this position is to perform weld repairs on rotating and stationary

turbine/generator components for the Parts Repair Department in accordance to

manufacturing and customer requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Weld repair and manufacture of turbine generator components. (Mostly TIG)

• Disassembly and assembly of turbine/generator components.

• Part/component inspections.

• Prep and blend parts. Including but not limited to media blasting.

• Work with job site managers.

• Operate forklifts and cranes.

• Maintain a clean and safe working environment.

• Support other areas of the shop as needed.

Position Requirements:

• Minimum of 1 year of experience preferred.

• Familiarity with Power Generation Industry preferred.

• Experience with fixture assembly and usage.

• Experience and knowledge of precision measurement equipment: Calipers, veneers, ID and OD micrometers, etc.

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical specifications.

• Ability to perform intricate welding tasks on delicate components with high precision and minimal distortion.

• Ability to perform weld techniques on specialty metals (INCO, Hastelloy X, carbon, stainless steel, etc.).

• Knowledge of metallurgy.

• Ability to set up and operate welding equipment.

• Mechanical skills.

• Communication skills, both verbal and written.

• Ability to foresee changes relevant to area of responsibility.

• Ability to organize work assignments to ensure efficient operations within the area.

•Ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner to achieve intended objective.

• Good organizational skills.

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time and in environments that require frequent bending, reaching and lifting.

• Ability to follow safety guidelines set by customer and the company.

• OSHA 10 certification, preferred.

• Must have a valid driver’s license.

• Ability to pass drug test and background check.
