Job Description

We are seeking a Traffic Manager/ Warehouse Supervisor for an established manufacturer on the Northside of Jacksonville. 

Pay is $35.85/hr 


Job Duties of the Traffic Manager/ Warehouse Supervisor:

  • Supervise traffic office/shipping clerks & small parcel staff to keep them on task & focused, and ensure that finished goods are handled in a careful manner to avoid damage. 

  • Direct employees, assist with their needs, and make general Traffic & personnel decisions. 

  • Ensure Receivers are able to keep up with or ahead of unloading & putting RMs in storage areas

  • Be able to perform all of the tasks expected of the shipping clerks, oversee small parcel inbound receiving, and ensure prompt delivery to the designated depts or parties.

  • Assist in the training or cross-training of traffic-office & small package personnel, monitor their performances & progress, and conduct their reviews.

  • Supervise the Shipping & Receiving Supervisors and assist them with holding their crews accountable for mistakes, work with them to help reduce errors & with monitoring all Ship/Rec EE-performances, and help prepare & conduct performance reviews with/for the S&R Supervisors as / when needed.

  • Maintain good communication with all shipping & receiving Supervisors, warehouse staff, shipping clerks & parcel processors, Production Supervisors, Maintenance Supervisor & staff, support staff, Safety, the Plant Manager, the Corp Ops Mgr/staff, Customer Service, & all other Leadership personnel.

  • Master the use of the Oracle Shipping module.

  • Learn each product's correct freight class; help prevent carrier re-classes on the audit reports.

  • Help monitor inbound/outbound truck arrivals to ensure they are loaded or unloaded in a timely manner to prevent delays that cause detention charges. 

  • Perform annual freight analysis.

  • Promptly resolve & respond to customer service inquiries.

  • Participate in physical inventory and cycle-counts as required.

  • Help clean & maintain organization of the finished goods, raw material, & overflow storage areas.

  • Participate in traffic, warehouse, & plant Lean projects as requested by PM

  • Comply with & also enforce all safety policies - wear the required PPE; perform tasks & ensure that staff perform all tasks in a controlled & safe manner; use proper lifting techniques; encourage caution is used when navigating forklifts, pallet jacks, carts, & dollies in and around production & warehouse areas

  • Be aware of and enforce LOCK-OUT/TAG-OUT; recognize LOTO-situations & understand general LOTO.

 

Skills and Qualifications of the Traffic Manager/ Warehouse Supervisor:

  • Must have strong verbal & written communication skills in English, Spanish is an asset.

  • Must have strong computer skills- including the use of Oracle.

  • Must have strong basic math skills- addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and fractions. Be able to read a tape measure to 1/16".

  • Must have excellent time-management and follow-through skills; be able to properly prioritize Traffic tasks. 

  • Must be flexible and able to adapt quickly to ever-changing production & schedule changes.

  • Must be able to multi-task and shift focus as necessary.
