Receptionist (1st Shift)
Job Description
We are seeking a friendly, organized, and efficient Receptionist to join our healthcare team. As the first point of contact for patients, you will play a key role in ensuring a positive experience from check-in to check-out. You will manage front-desk operations, including scheduling appointments, handling patient inquiries, and maintaining medical records with confidentiality. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Schedule: 1st Shift – Monday thru Friday, 7:45am to 5:30pm (with rotating weekends after training)
Job Duties of the Receptionist:
Greet patients and visitors in a professional and welcoming manner.
Answer and manage phone calls, emails, and patient inquiries.
Schedule and confirm patient appointments using the practice's scheduling software.
Handle patient registration, verify insurance information, and ensure all required forms are completed.
Assist patients with billing questions and process payments as needed.
Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the reception area.
Ensure patient privacy by adhering to HIPAA regulations and safeguarding confidential medical information.
Coordinate with healthcare providers and staff to facilitate smooth patient flow.
Manage office supplies and order as necessary.
Other administrative duties as assigned by the office manager or healthcare provider.
Skills and Qualifications of the Receptionist:
Previous experience in a medical office setting is required.
High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in office administration is a plus.
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and follow HIPAA regulations.
Professional and courteous demeanor.
Basic knowledge of medical terminology is an advantage.
