Job Description

Job Responsibilities:

The Quality Technician performs inspections and tests on in-process product as defined by the work instructions and quality standards and controls. Ensures that the part is meeting the standards and quality control throughout the manufacturing process. The Quality Technician will generate the appropriate documentation, records and reports to support the findings.

 

 

 

Job Duties:

• Competency in first piece inspections, in-process inspection, verification of operator inspection sheet completion, and final completed part audit.

• Provide final approval for parts.

• Process and containment of parts with defects or out of tolerance parts.

• Reading and understanding of blue prints, complete shop math, use of gages, calibration, and testing equipment.

• Participates in the internal, external and ISO Audits.

• Create and update work and gauge instructions.

• Use of computerized spreadsheets, formulas, charting and graphing.

• Assist quality staff in support of customer satisfaction, customer audits and ISO 9001 certification audits.

• Interpret GD&T and program the software accordingly

• Support PPAP approval for customers such as capability studies, gage repeatability and reproducibility studies.

• Creation of inspection sheet and bubble drawings.

 

 

 

Skills and Qualifications:

• 1+ years’ experience in quality directly related to metal parts, preferably short-run and prototyping.

• 2+ years’ experience in GD&T and be able to interpret information.

• Competency with quality related measuring devices (Calipers, height/depth gauges, micrometers, testing equipment, etc.).

• Competent in the use of Microsoft Suite products: Excel, Word, and Outlook.

• Ability to read and apply information from blueprints and part drawling's.

• Ability to sit, stand, bend, twist and lift/move up to 50 pounds.

• Vacation- It is pro-rated based on date of hire, and 40 hours is given in January of their first calendar year. They receive 80 hours beginning their 2nd full calendar year of employment, and then there is a graduated schedule based on longevity.
