Procurement Manager needed for a manufacturing firm in Alachua County
This is a Monday to Friday onsite position.
The Procurement Manager will develop and implement Sourcing Strategies to improve material productivity, DPO – Days Payable Outstanding, supply capacity required to support the business growth plan and Supplier Performance (delivery, quality and service). The strategies will also consider new product development activities and methodologies to optimize material cost during the design process of new equipment.
Conducting research and analyzing the supply marketplace, maintain working knowledge of
business trends including industry issues, cost drivers, global pricing, market conditions and
economic indicators.
• Generate and implement efficient sourcing and category management strategies to leverage
costs.
• Develop contractual agreements and LTA’s (long term agreements) to manage cost, ensure
supply, mitigate risk and protect the business.
• Perform cost and scenario analyses and benchmarking across the market and between other
Sandvik product areas and business units.
• Identify new and/or alternate sources of supply.
• Negotiate best price, quality, service levels and delivery terms for purchased parts and materials.
• Rationalize and reduce the number of suppliers where applicable without jeopardizing the
supply capacity required to support the business growth plan.
Conduct regular supplier business reviews with strategic suppliers that include supplier performance reviews, technology roadmaps, business growth strategies and supply market changes.
• Identify risks and apply risk mitigating techniques.
• Manage cross-functional teams between R&D and Supply Chain.
• Demonstrate respect and commitment to the IMS System (ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018, taking accountability for its effectiveness and continued improvement
Requirements:
*Bachelor's Degree - preferably in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Logistics or Business Adminstration
*Professional Certification such as: CSCP - APICS Certified Supply Chain Professional, CPIM - APICS Certified Production & Inventory Management, or CPSM - ISM Certified Professional in Supply Management
*5 – 8 years of structured Sourcing experience in a manufacturing environment; high mix / low volume heavy
equipment environment preferred.
Knowledge of ERP/MRP systems and their applications.
• Familiarity with production costing, inventory control, and supply chain optimization strategies.
• Experience with manufacturing processes in sourcing product such as electrical, hydraulics, and
steel fabrication. Familiarity with OEM channels and strategies a plus.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Fluency in Spanish is a plus.
• Ability to manage complex projects in a cross functional environment; lead, inspire and manage
teams.
• Availability for domestic and international travel.
