General Summary This position is responsible for spray painting and silk screening parts to meet production schedules. Responsible for preparing and mixing paints and inks with proper thinner to the proper viscosity. This full-time hourly position reports directly to the Plant Manager.

Job Responsibilities Operates and maintains screening tables, oven, screen cleaning station, paint booth and ovens. Prepares parts to be screened and painted. Fills out a “Request For Material” slip when material is needed. Gives slip to material handler. Screens parts using screening table, screens, and ink tools. Paints parts using paint booth per approved color matches. Inspects completed product for completeness and correctness as defined by the drawing and job paperwork. Maintains inventory of inks, paints and other supplies as necessary. Fills out a purchase requisition form for more supplies when necessary. Under the guidance of the Plant Manager, insures that work is being performed per the schedule. Maintains a clean and safe working environment. Handles parts with due care so as not to damage. Always uses safety equipment, a hood or respirator, for ventilation when performing paint functions. Will also replace or request supplies for hood or respirator as needed. Skill & Ability Requirements Education, Technical & Industry Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend complex instructions. Ability to write and understand complex correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Physical Ability: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, twist, kneel, carry parts and lift parts overhead; must be able to reach for, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls. Must regularly lift and/or move up to 45 pounds. If lifting more than 45 lbs must get assistance from another employee or use a lift cart/truck. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
