Job Responsibilities:

The Landscape Crew Leader is responsible for leading a landscape installation crew in the successful completion of landscape construction and enhancement projects. This position combines hands-on installation work with crew supervision, project coordination, quality control, and safety leadership to ensure projects are completed efficiently and to company standards.

Job Duties:

Crew Leadership & Supervision:

• Lead, train, and supervise landscape crew members on job sites.

• Assign daily tasks and manage workflow to meet project timelines.

• Maintain team accountability, productivity, safety, and morale.

• Provide on-site training and coaching to crew members.

• Operate company vehicles/golf carts as needed

Landscape Installation & Construction:

• Install landscape projects including:

o Planting trees, shrubs, and perennials

o Sod installation and grading

o Mulch, rock, and bed preparation

o Drainage solutions

o Hardscape installation (pavers, patios, walkways, retaining walls)

o Landscape renovations and enhancements

• Read and interpret landscape plans and layouts.

• Ensure installations meet design specifications and quality standards.

Equipment & Job Site Management:

• Operate and oversee safe use of equipment and landscape tools.

• Perform daily equipment inspections and basic maintenance.

• Report mechanical issues, damage, or safety concerns promptly

• Maintain clean, organized, and safe job sites.

• Manage materials, deliveries, and inventory on site.

• Maintain organized trucks, trailers, job sites and shop/yard areas.

• Track job completion and crew time accurately.

• Ensure equipment, materials, and supplies are prepared for each job.

• Assist with loading/unloading equipment and materials.

• Operate company vehicles/golf carts as needed

Customer & Project Communication:

• Serve as primary on-site contact during projects.

• Represent the company professionally on all properties.

• Communicate progress updates to management and/or designers.

• Maintain professional interaction with clients and other contractors.

• Identify change orders or additional work opportunities.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Prior landscaping or landscape installation experience required.

• Crew leadership or supervisory experience preferred.

• Ability to read landscape plans and measurements.

• Experience with hardscape installation preferred.

• Must have smart phone and willing to use company job tracking app.

• Valid driver’s license required with chauffeur or CDL certification (or be willing to obtain certification.

• Ability to operate landscape and construction equipment safely.

• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

• Ability to lift 50 pounds and perform physical labor.

• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.

• The ability to walk, lift, twist, and bend for 8 hours a day
