Job Description

We are seeking 3rd shift Metal Fabricators on the Northside of Jacksonville.

 

Pay rates range from $19.50-23/hr (this includes 3rd shift differntial)

Shift 9pm - 5:30am Monday to Friday plus weekend overtime as needed.

 

The Third Shift Fabricator is responsible for ensuring the continuous operation of laser machines and other fabrication equipment during the third shift in two adjacent facilities. This role performs the setup, operation, and maintenance of fabrication machines such as lasers, shears, turret punches, and press brakes to support production schedules. Additionally, the role involves managing the loading and unloading of materials in automation towers to support the production workflow.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Equipment Operation and Maintenance:

  • Ensure the continuous operation of laser machines throughout the third shift, resolving any alarms or malfunctions promptly.

  • Operate fabricating machines, including shears, turret punches, and press brakes, as needed to support production.

  • Perform basic maintenance and troubleshooting on fabrication equipment to minimize downtime and resolve alarms on shift.

  • Use multiple measuring devices such as scales, feeler gauges, rulers, micrometers, calipers tee square, machinist square and tape measure to accurately and precisely perform work.

  • Read, interpret and follow basic diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, bills of materials, and other instructions or procedures to accurately fabricate materials and equipment.

Material Handling:

  • Oversee the loading and unloading of metal sheets in automation towers when programs are completed.

  • Ensure that all necessary materials are available and correctly staged to support uninterrupted production and turnover to first shift.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding any issues or changes in the production process.

Reporting and Compliance:

  • Track and document machine performance, material usage, and production output.

  • Adhere to safety guidelines and maintain a clean and organized work environment.

  • Perform other duties which may be required by supervisor.

 

EDUCATION AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED preferred; technical training or certification in fabrication or manufacturing and at least 1 year of experience is an acceptable alternate.

  • Experience: At least 1 year of experience in a fabrication or manufacturing environment, with hands-on experience operating CNC equipment (lasers, shears, turret punches, and/or press brakes.).

  • Must be or be able to become fork lift certified
