Job Description

We are seeking a Material Management & Production Planning Manager for a large manufacturer in Jacksonville.

The ideal candidate will optimize the material management and production planning operations for the company by efficiently managing materials and production planning processes. You will be responsible for ensuring the availability of materials, optimizing inventory levels, and coordinating with various departments to meet production and customer demand while minimizing costs and disruptions. This role requires a strong background in supply chain management, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to lead and collaborate with cross-functional teams.


Responsibilities:

Handle Production Capacity management, material management, warehouse management, control, and optimization.

Evaluate existing production capacity, materials, warehousing, logistics, and so on, based on sales plans and business orders resource management, coordinating the allocation of personnel and machinery and equipment in various departments.

Carry out timely follow up output and sales shipment arrangements for the shipment of finished products from each base, reduce the delivery cycle, reduce the backlog of inventory, improve inventory turnover.

Understand the procurement cycle and dosage of each material, formulate a reasonable and accurate material demand plan, and handle the sluggish materials in a timely manner control and digestion work.

Storage resource demand planning, personnel safety management, storage safety of raw materials, auxiliary materials, semi-finished products, and finished products management, scheduling logistics and transportation safety management.

Warehousing account management, regular inspection of the lower level to ensure the consistency of materials and account cards. Coordinate the punctuality of material transportation at each base.

Supervise and coordinate delivery plans to meet customer delivery needs.

Supervise a team of 5-15 direct/indirect reports. – handle employee management and performance management.

Develop and execute material planning strategies to ensure timely availability of materials required for production.

Maintain optimal inventory levels to meet production and customer demand while minimizing carrying costs.

Monitor and analyze material usage trends to forecast future requirements accurately.

Collaborate with production teams to develop production schedules that align with customer demand and resource availability.

Ensure production schedules are efficient and achievable, taking into consideration machine and labor capacity.

Continuously improve production planning processes to enhance efficiency and reduce lead times.

Manage relationships with suppliers to secure timely and cost-effective deliveries of materials.

Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers to improve terms and conditions.

Identify potential alternative suppliers to mitigate risks and optimize costs.

Implement inventory control measures to reduce excess and obsolete materials.

Conduct regular cycle counts and reconcile discrepancies.

Develop and implement strategies for managing slow-moving or non-moving inventory.

Utilize data analysis tools and software to generate reports and provide insights into material and production planning performance.

Identify areas for improvement and recommend actionable solutions to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.

Collaborate closely with other departments, such as procurement, production, and logistics.

Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment on supply chain objectives and priorities.

Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations.

Monitor quality control measures to maintain the highest level of product quality.

Requirements:

-       At least 5 years of experience in a Supply Chain Management position

-       Bilingual English – Mandarin Chinese

-       Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, logistics, Business Administration or related.
