We are seeking an Upfitter for an established company in the Wyoming, MI area who will be responsible for customizing and modifying trucks and other vehicles to meet specific customer or industry needs. This includes installing equipment, accessories, electrical systems, shelving, lighting, and other components as per work orders and design specifications.

Schedule: Monday thru Thursday, 6:30am to 5pm, with overtime as needed

Job Duties of the Upfitter:

• Read and interpret upfitting work orders, blueprints, and technical drawings.

• Install a wide range of aftermarket equipment such as toolboxes, ladder racks, lift gates, lighting systems, power inverters, auxiliary batteries, and more.

• Route and connect electrical wiring and ensure proper functionality of installed systems.

• Test equipment for safety, reliability, and compliance with specifications.

• Use hand tools, power tools, welding, and fabrication equipment as needed.

• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

• Work collaboratively with team members and communicate with supervisors regarding job progress or challenges.

• Maintain accurate records of work completed and materials used.

Skills and Qualifications of the Upfitter:

• Air line experience and understanding of the functions of a dump-truck/truck.

• Proficiency with hand and power tools.

• Understanding of automotive electrical systems and wiring.

• Must be able to read and comprehend engineering drawings, sketches, and work specifications.

• Mechanically inclined with ability to troubleshoot.

• Strong math skills.

• Must have own tools and welding equipment.

• Must be able to stand for 8+ hours a day
