We are hiring for a Custodial Services Technician/Handyman on the Westside of Jacksonville.

Pay: $21.19/hr

The Building Custodian Services Technician provides general facilities support across company-owned manufacturing locations and residential apartment complexes. This role focuses on facility upkeep, basic maintenance, and work order support to ensure buildings remain safe, functional, and well-maintained. The position requires independent work, coordination with the custodial team and maintenance team, and approximately 30% travel between assigned properties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

General Facilities & Property Upkeep

• Maintain the overall appearance, functionality, and readiness of offices, manufacturing areas, common spaces, and residential properties

• Perform light custodial and upkeep tasks as needed to support daily operations and property standards

• Conduct routine walkthroughs to identify cleanliness, safety, or maintenance concerns

• Use facility tools and equipment to support building upkeep and service needs

• Assist with apartment unit preparation and readiness in coordination with maintenance and property management teams

Maintenance & Repair Support

• Perform basic maintenance and minor repairs, including lighting, doors, locks, fixtures, and hardware, etc.

• Replace HVAC filters and assist with preventive maintenance activities

• Identify and report maintenance issues requiring specialized repair

• Support general facility upkeep and improvement projects as assigned

Work Orders & Inspections

• Respond to and complete assigned work orders across multiple locations

• Inspect buildings and grounds for safety hazards or maintenance concerns

• Document completed work and communicate status updates to supervisors

• Follow company policies, OSHA guidelines, and facility safety procedures

Travel & Multi-Site Support

• Travel between manufacturing facilities and apartment complexes (approximately 30% travel)

• Provide support across multiple properties based on operational needs

• Assist with urgent or emergency facility issues when required

Additional Support Duties

• Move furniture, equipment, and materials as needed

• Assist with room setups, breakdowns, or special projects

• Support emergency cleanups related to leaks, spills, or weather-related events

• Work independently or collaboratively as part of a facilities or maintenance team

Qualifications & Skills

• Basic handyman, maintenance, or facilities experience preferred

• High school diploma required

• Ability to read and follow work orders, instructions, and safety procedures

• Familiarity with facility tools, equipment, and basic maintenance practices

• Strong time management and organizational skills

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

• Physical ability to stand, walk, lift, bend, and perform manual tasks

Valid driver’s license and ability to travel between sites
