Job Description

We are currently seeking a quality technician who is responsible for conducting quality inspections and controlling product quality before shipment to ensure compliance with company standards, customer requirements, and regulatory guidelines. The role ensures products are shipped without defects, supervises outbound loading, maintains quality documentation, and provides support to prevent customer complaints and returns.

 

Job Title: Quality Control Technician

Location: Westside of Jacksonville, FL

Pay: $19.80 Hourly

Schedule: M-F

 

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Perform outbound inspection and supervise container loading:

    • Verify shipping location compliance.

    • Conduct container checks using the seven-point inspection method.

    • Inspect product packaging, pallet details, bill of lading, and ensure proper evidence records (photos, container/seal numbers).

  • Document and report inspection outcomes:

    • Record outbound inspection results and maintain complete reports.

    • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly quality reports to ensure traceability and accuracy.

  • Manage defective products:

    • Identify and isolate non-conforming products.

    • Enter defective items into the prohibited shipment system and issue corrective/preventive reports.

  • Provide technical support:

    • Assist with IQC, measurement, laboratory testing, process execution, and exception handling.

    • Must be able to lift and carry up to 80 pounds as needed when assisting in laboratory testing.

  • Exercise authority to stop shipment, mark defective products, and recommend rework or scrapping actions when required.

Key Requirements & Competencies:

  • Education: Technical Secondary School or above.

  • Knowledge:

    • Familiarity with photovoltaic module production processes and quality control points.

    • Knowledge of SAP/EWM and Microsoft Office software.

  • Skills:

    • Strong observation, judgment, and problem-solving skills.

    • Ability to identify and address quality issues accurately.

  • Experience:

    • Experience in photovoltaic module inspection processes and methods preferred.

Place of Job in the Organizational Structure:

  • Reports to: Quality Engineer.
