Job Description
Job Responsibilities:
Performing all tasks involved in the production of valve seat inserts, following standard work instructions, and practicing safe work habits to ensure that production is as efficient and as safe as possible. The production operator must be able to work as part of a team.
Job Duties:
Responsible for meeting cycle times
Performs set-ups and change-overs as needed
Suggests, initiates and/or supports recommendations to improve production methods, equipment performance, equipment maintenance, quality of product, and cost savings
Monitors the equipment operations to ensure all products run to the standard production specs and production schedule
Ensures machinery is operating properly by watching or adjusting controls, gauges, dials or other indicators
Assists with performing routine maintenance on equipment and determining when and what maintenance is needed.
Conducts quality checks and inspections of products or processes using various methods as well as gauges and computer equipment.
Maintains a safe and secure work environment following Company 5s guidelines Works to continuously improve in all areas of productivity, cost, safety, quality and employee relations.
Responsible for 5S in assigned areas
Performs other duties as assigned
Skills and Requirements:
Knowledge, skills and abilities normally achieved through obtaining a High School Diploma or GED
Minimum of 6 months of manufacturing experience strongly preferred; experience working with metals in the automotive industry a plus
Demonstrated experience operating machinery, set-up skills a plus Demonstrated knowledge and ability to use basic math and reading skills
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in a multi-cultural, multi-lingual environment
Demonstrated ability to use effective two- way communication and maintaining positive relationships
Stand, bend, twist, reach, walk, climb and stoop throughout the day
Occasionally lift and carry up to 35 pounds
Benefits once hired in:
Attendance bonuses paid out quarterly: $150 with no attendance issues.
