Machine Operator (2nd Shift)

Job Description
We are seeking Machine Operators for an established company in the Grand Haven, MI area who will perform all tasks involved in the production of valve seat inserts, follow standard work instructions, and practice safe work habits to ensure that production is as efficient and safe as possible.
Job Duties of the Machine Operator:

Be responsible for meeting cycle times
-
Perform set-ups and changeovers as needed
-
Suggest, initiate and/or support recommendations to improve production methods, equipment performance, equipment maintenance, quality of product, and cost savings

Monitor the equipment operations to ensure all products run to the standard production specs and production schedule
-
Ensure machinery is operating properly by watching or adjusting controls, gauges, dials or other indicators
-
Assist with performing routine maintenance on equipment and determining when and what maintenance is needed.

Conduct quality checks and inspections of products or processes using various methods as well as gauges and computer equipment.

Maintain a safe and secure work environment following Company 5s guidelines
-
Work to continuously improve in all areas of productivity, cost, safety, quality and employee relations.

Be responsible for 5S in assigned areas

Perform other duties as assigned
Skills and Qualifications of the Machine Operator:
-
Knowledge, skills and abilities normally achieved through obtaining a High School Diploma or GED
-
Minimum of 6 months of manufacturing experience strongly preferred; experience working with metals in the automotive industry is a plus
-
Demonstrated experience operating machinery, set-up skills are a plus
-
Demonstrated knowledge and ability to use basic math and reading skills

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in a multi-cultural, multi-lingual environment
-
Demonstrated ability to use effective two- way communication and maintaining positive relationships
Physical Demands of the Production Operator:
-
This position spends most of the time on a moderately noisy non-climate controlled manufacturing floor.

While performing duties of the job the Employee is required to:
-
Stand, bend, twist, reach, walk, climb and stoop throughout the day
-
Occasionally lift and carry up to 35 pounds
-
Benefits once hired in! (Benefits start the 1st day of the following month once hired in.)

Attendance bonuses paid out quarterly: $150 with no attendance issues.
