We are seeking a Lead Fabricator for an established company in the Allendale Township, MI area who will be responsible for overseeing fabrication projects from start to finish while guiding and mentoring a team of fabricators. This role requires hands-on fabrication skills, strong leadership, and the ability to ensure projects meet deadlines, quality standards, and safety regulations.

Schedule: Monday thru Friday, 8am to 4:30pm, with overtime as needed

Job Duties of the Lead Fabricator:

• Operate metalworking machines such as shears, brakes, punches, and drill presses, and CNC equipment to cut, bend, punch, drill, shape, or straighten sheet metal.

• Fit and join sheet metal parts using riveting, welding, soldering and similar equipment to fabricate products such as ventilation shafts, exhaust hoods, partition frames, dust collection piping, and material handling systems.

• Inspect product quality and 100% conformation to specifications.

• Lead and supervise a team of fabricators and welders in daily operations.

• Assign tasks, monitor progress, and ensure accuracy and quality in all work.

• Inspect finished products to verify measurements, tolerances, and compliance.

• Train and mentor team members on fabrication techniques, equipment, and safety practices

Skills and Qualifications of the Lead Fabricator:

• Must have custom weld fabrication experience with sheet metal and structural welding.

• MIG welding various mild steel including 16 gauge, ¼”, 3/8”, ½”.

• TIG/Stick welding experience a plus.

• Must be able to read and comprehend engineering drawings, sketches, and work specifications.

• Mechanically inclined with ability to troubleshoot.

• Strong math skills.

• Must have own tools and welding equipment.

• The ability to stand for 8+ hours a day

• Must be able to travel up to 50-75%. Travel may be up to 2-week increments. $50/per day perdiem for overnights
