Job Description
We are currently seeking a CNC Machine Operator to load, operate, adjust, set up, create and adjust programs for Citizen CNC Machine or Profilator to turn, cut, mill or form metal parts, as well as check machined parts to drawing and/or routing.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities of the CNC Machine Operator:
Review drawing and routing to determine characteristics and dimensions of finished part.
Selects tooling holders, inserts, cutters, etc.
Develops machining methods and sequences.
Performs complete machine and feeder system set-up.
Writes and/or loads CNC Program.
Loads raw materials into machine.
Start automatic machine operation.
Measure completed parts using micrometers, dial/digital calipers, gauges and/or indicators for conformance to drawing and routing specifications.
Adjust machine controls or tool positions to correct malfunctions or out of tolerance condition.
Stops machine to change insert or fix tools due to calculated tool life requirements or breakage
Perform minor machine set-up, change collets and adjust clamping force, adjust guide bushing tension, adjust or reconfigure Hopper, change-over Bar Feeder and make adjustments.
Operates machines manually to perform non-automated functions during set-up.
Identify, log and notify supervisor of discrepancies.
Observe and listen to machine operation to detect malfunctions such as worn or damaged cutting tools, bar miss-feeds, etc.
Maintain operation of a maximum of four similar machines.
Cleans machines, tooling and parts. Performs normal machine maintenance.
Able to work with a team to accomplish company goals.
Strict attention to safety procedures and guidelines including waring all personal protective equipment (PPE).
Willingness to keep and maintain a clean and safe work environment.
Adherence to attendance policy and all other company policies.
Must be able to work the established work schedule.
Qualifications of the CNC Machine Operator:
High school diploma, GED or equivalent.
Must be able to read and understand shop drawings and blueprints.
5 years’ experience required on CNC Machining Centers
Must be able to do basic shop math, add & subtract with 3-4 decimal.
Must be able to read and speak English.
Working Environment of the CNC Machine Operator:
Good working conditions. Exposure to cutting and lubricating oils or solvents.
Contact with metal materials or metal chips, miscellaneous tooling or equipment.
Moderately loud equipment.
Nothing hazardous if properly handled.

Additionally, workers will be exposed to a large warehouse environment and may experience loud volumes or high/low temperatures, based on current weather. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds on a regular basis and may be required to stand for up to 8 hours at a time.
