Facility Maintenance Tech
Job Description
We are hiring for a BUILDING MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN on the Southside of Jacksonville.
STARTING $19/HR
The Building Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining the physical condition, safety, and functionality of our office location. This position ensures a clean, organized, and professional working environment. Responsibilities include performing general building maintenance, facilities cleaning, repairs, facility inspections, grounds maintenance, inventory of maintenance supplies, furniture assembly and relocation, equipment installation, and responding to maintenance requests in a timely manner.
Core Days & Times: Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. 7am-3pm *Days and times can vary or change based on business needs.
Responsibilities

Respond promptly to facility maintenance requests submitted by management.

Ensure company grounds, parking lots, sidewalks, and entrances remain clean, safe, and presentable.

Clean and maintain breakrooms, conference rooms, restrooms, storage areas, and common workspaces.

Conduct general repairs including drywall, painting, flooring, doors, locks, windows, ceilings, and fixtures.

Perform minor plumbing, electrical, and carpentry repairs.

Troubleshoot and coordinate repairs for HVAC systems and building utilities.

Assemble, install, relocate, or remove office furniture, workstations, shelving, and equipment.

Perform seasonal exterior maintenance including sweeping, pressure washing, debris removal, and landscaping support.

Replace light bulbs, ceiling tiles, air filters, smoke detector batteries, and other routine building components.

Monitor building safety and immediately correct or report hazardous conditions.

Maintain maintenance inventory, equipment, tools, and shop organization.

Maintain accurate maintenance logs, inspection records, preventative maintenance schedules, vendor information, and repair documentation.

Follow all company safety procedures and OSHA regulations.

Participate in emergency response activities during facility-related incidents.

Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
-
Minimum one (1) year of commercial building maintenance, facilities maintenance, or related experience preferred.

Strong working knowledge of general building maintenance, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and mechanical repairs.

Basic understanding of HVAC systems preferred; EPA/CFC certification is preferred but not required.

Ability to safely operate power tools, hand tools, ladders, and maintenance equipment.

Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Professional attitude with excellent customer service skills when interacting with employees, vendors, and visitors.
Physical Requirements
-
Frequently lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
-
Stand, walk, climb ladders, kneel, crouch, bend, and reach for extended periods.

Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Ability to safely use ladders, power equipment, and maintenance tools.
Additional Requirements

Must successfully pass a pre-employment background check.

Must maintain confidentiality regarding company property, equipment, and internal operations.

Must be dependable, punctual, and able to work occasional overtime or after-hours when emergency repairs or business needs require.

Other duties may be assigned to meet the operational needs of the organization.
Benefits available once hire reaches Full-Time status and completes 90-Day probationary period.
This is a Temp-to-Hire position and the client offers benefits once Hired In.
