Facility Maintenance Tech (2nd Shift)
Job Description
We are seeking a Facility Maintenance Technician for an established company on the Northside of Jacksonville.
Schedule: Monday thru Thursday 4:00pm to 2:30am
Job Duties of the Maintenance Technician:
Experience routine building and grounds maintenance, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, motor and bearing lubrication, mechanical maintenance, painting, general construction, & drywall maintenance or repairs.
Handle preventative maintenance measures.
Familiar with industrial air compressors systems and compressed air distribution, process water chillers and cooling towers, fire suppression and alarm systems, HVAC systems, pumps, valves, motors, & fans.
Perform daily visual and physical inspections of the facility and its supporting equipment and contents.
Maintain inventory of repair equipment and supplies.
The ability to diagnose and perform routine maintenance for forklift is a plus.
Oversee the work from outside contractors and other service providers like plumbers & electricians.
Assist in facility projects with EH&S & other departments as requested.
Able to respond quickly in the event of an emergency, notify appropriate personnel and follow safety protocols like lock-out, tag-out (LOTO).
Occasionally work different or overtime hours if needed to complete a repair or project.
Requirements of the Maintenance Technician:
Physically capable of lifting 50 pounds unassisted.
Adaptability, positive attitude, and sense of urgency to complete tasks in a professional manner.
Experienced in operating a variety of tools. The ability to operate machine shop equipment like band saws, drill presses, wire feed welders, belt sanders, & end mills is a plus.
Able to work well with minimal supervision.
Ability to prioritize tasks and follow specified procedures and regulations.
Occasionally work different or overtime hours if needed to complete a repair or project
Ability to communicate in English fluently.
Skilled in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Demonstrated excellent organizational skills.
Strong verbal, written, and presentation communications skills.
Project planning and management of schedule and cost.
Qualifications of the Maintenance Technician:
High School diploma or equivalent.
At least 5 years of directly related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
