We are seeking FPI Readers for an established company in the Fruitport, MI area that will inspect castings for flaws, defects, cracks, and/or the presence of foreign material. 

Schedule: Monday thru Friday, 2pm to 10:30pm, with overtime as needed

Job Duties of the FPI Reader:

• Verify that parts are free of oil and grease.

• Verify that each part has a heat treat code stamped legibly in the appropriate area.

• Read and interpret penetrant indications to accept or reject castings.

• Monitor the penetrant process to ensure all parameters are maintained (reference operational documents as needed).

• Complete calibration checks to verify system is operating at the proper sensitivity level.

• Mark defects appearing from penetrant inspection and assist in analyzing findings.

Skills and Qualifications of the FPI Reader:

• Experience in a manufacturing setting.

• Near Vision: Jaeger Type 2 at 12 inches (30.5 cm) or greater

• Color Vision: Must demonstrate normal color perception on all 15 Ishihara plates.

• Comfortable in a high heat environment.

• Must be able to read and understand work instructions.

• Must be able to write and complete required paperwork and enter information into Plex system.

• Must have basic math skills - add, subtract, multiply, and divide.

• Must be able to stand for 8+ hours a day.

• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
