We are currently seeking a CNC Machine Operator for an established company in the Grand Haven, MI area who will operate CNC turret lathes to perform a series of machine operations such as turning, boring, threading, and facing on metal work pieces such as bar stock. 

Job Duties of the CNC Machine Operator:

• Read blueprints, travelers, standard charts, and CNC programs for specifications such as dimensions and tolerances.

• Position and secure work pieces in chuck or to faceplate, as well as position bar stock in bar feeder.

• Index turret and adjust positions of tools at each station in relation to work piece to assure clearance between moving parts and machining of specified dimensions and tolerances.

• Perform offsets per tool locations.

• Observe operations and index turrets between operations. Report any non-compliance to CNC Set-Up Operator, Supervisor, or Plant Manager.

• Verify conformance of machined work pieces to specifications.

• Turn valves and direct the flow of coolant against tools and work pieces.

• Compute such data as dimensions and machining times.

• Complete first piece and quality inspections as required for each work piece.

• Remove metal chips and shavings from surfaces of machines. Maintain a clean work area.

• Train new and existing employees when necessary.

• Other tasks as assigned.

Skills and Requirements of the CNC Machine Operator:

• CNC Lathe operation experience 

• 1 years’ experience in CNC automation is a plus

• CNC Set up / programming is a plus

• Must be able to stand for 8+ hours a day
