Architectural Drafter

Job Description
We are seeking an Architectural Drafter for an established company in the Sarasota, FL area who will prepare drawings on CAD under the supervision of the Director of Engineering, to assist the Production Manager with shop production processes.
Job Duties of the Architectural Drafter:
Analyze plans and details for estimating purposes.
Coordinate & assemble engineered submittal packages for distribution.
Prepare submittals and cut sheets for proposals.
Create parts and components for the CAD Library.
Maintain active awareness of the production schedule for responsible task(s).
Review completed tasks at key intervals for accuracy/completeness.
Requirements of the Architectural Drafter:
Experience in steel fabrication and manufacturing details.
Experience in AutoCAD 2D drafting model & Paperspace REQUIRED.
Experience in AutoCAD 3D modeling & drafting REQUIRED.
A skill test will be conducted to evaluate skill level before hiring.
Must be able to read blueprints.
Must be able to interpret and reference Building plans
Must be able to produce fabric cut size production drawings
Must have strong organization and prioritization skills.
Must have high proficiency using computers/tablets/smartphones.
Must have strong logic and critical thinking skills.
Must be able to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Must be able to effectively communicate with employees at all levels of the company in English.
Must be able to work independently with minimum supervision.
Experience & Qualifications of the Architectural Drafter:
Degree or Certificate in Design or Drafting. Consideration will be given for a combination of education and work experience.
Minimum 3+ years' experience in producing AutoCAD drawings
Schematic Design Drawings
Design Development Drawings
Construction Specification Documents
Coordination with multiple disciplines (Architects, Project Managers, GC etc)
Has knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the architectural field.
Software Knowledge Requirements:
Autodesk – AutoCAD 2018 or later Required
Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Project)
SketchUp (not required, but preferred)
