Job Responsibilities: Support manufacturing, production and shipping/receiving functions through movement of materials, supplies and finished products by using powered industrial truck. Job Duties: • Operate powered industrial truck to move or load products, materials, etc. safely, adhering to all safety specifications including stacking heights, seat belt use, speed limits, signage etc. • Maintain a high level of awareness of surroundings to ensure the safety of all associates, products and equipment • Perform proper forklift inspections and follow forklift operating guidelines and procedures • Perform inventory-related functions as needed • Operate banding equipment as required • Adhere to tagging/labeling specifications • Perform shipping/receiving functions; loading/unloading trucks • Perform general housekeeping duties in the shipping and/or production area • Additional functions not specifically outlined in this position description as directed by plant managers and supervisors Skills and Qualifications: • 1 or more years of powered industrial truck experience • Must maintain corrected vision and meet all requirements to operate a PIT as outlined by regulatory commissions • High school diploma or equivalent preferred. • On-the-job training provided. • Prolonged periods of standing. • Must wear required hearing and eye protection. • Must be able to lift 25 pounds at a time. Occasionally up to 75 pounds.
