We are seeking an Automation Control Engineer for an established company in the Muskegon, MI area.

Job Duties of the Automation Control Engineer:

• Provide support to the maintenance department in equipment trouble shooting to reduce / eliminate downtime.

• Review processes and procedures on an on-going basis for safety, quality and production efficiency

• Troubleshoot PLC ladder logic and data handling functions in Control Logix processors.

• Responsible for keeping PLC documentation up to date and archiving the PLC programs.

• Support I/O devices connected to PLC’s.

• Applies knowledge of electronic and instrumentation principles to determine equipment malfunctions and applies skills in restoring equipment to operation.

• Ensure that abnormalities, when observed, are acted upon to resolve root-causes.

• Participate in Continuous Improvement / Lean activities.

• Support existing automated equipment.

• Drive standards in programming and hardware while pushing for innovations and improvements.

• Analyze, revies and test for accuracy and optimal implementation of developed solutions.

Skills and Qualifications of the Automation Control Engineer:

• Candidate must have a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Programming or Computer Engineering.

• Prior experience in controls programming required. 

• Experience with Allen Bradley controls required.

• Experience with Siemens and Rockwell controls a plus.

• Prior experience in an automotive manufacturing environment preferred.
